A hand held system
or portable steam cleaner is ideal for hard surface such as hobs, ovens, tiles and windows and are usually hand fed to keep weight to a minimum
Floor standing steam only systems will clean virtually everything and are especially suited to use on ovens and appliances and for steam mopping floors
Steam vacuum systems are better for carpets, rugs, upholstery, mattresses etc. as they do extract the waste at the same time as the steam releases it from the surface - a steam vacuum is more desirable for allergy sufferers as it will take the allergens away at the same time as killing / neutralising them.
